Summary
I'm passionate about education and teaching. The most important thing we can give students is an opportunity to create without limitation.
I have spent the past 10 years:
I think I'm getting pretty good at it.
My Current Job
Digital Media Academy Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Digital Media Academy provides tech education in the form of summer camps, covering topics from Computer Science to Filmmaking. I am responsible for curriculum development relating to programming and game design for over a dozen unique courses and manage a team of course developers. I’ve worked with my team to integrate learning models like project based learning and design thinking to create more effective courses that empower students to be creative while tackling challenges.

My Old Jobs

Score TutorsOwner | 2012-2014
Score Tutors was a company I created to serve the students of greater Atlanta with private tutoring. I managed all aspects of the business, including most of the tutoring. When the opportunity to work for DMA came up, I decided to move on in order to make an impact on a wider audience of students, in subjects I'm passionate about.

Big Thinkers ScienceLogistics Director, Instructor, Curriculum Developer | 2010-2013
Big Thinkers is a science edutainment company for K-5 students. I started working as an instructor and soon moved on to work full time, taking over the logistics department, creating from scratch an asset management system and process to streamline teaching supplies for afterschool programs and summer camps. I also helped write and develop several workshops and camp curriculums.
My Appearances

SXSWedu 2015: Playground Booth -- VR and 3D Printing in the classroom.

Places I've Been
I was invited to attend Google I/O 2016 along with several students from DMA's Made by Girls program.
Our students were invited to be closed beta testers for the Google Assistant and got a chance to meet several Google executives, both male and female.
I attended Apple's WWDC conference on an educator scholarship, to learn about their new products and services, as well as beta test Swift Playgrounds. I was able to give feedback on their educator
tools and meet other scholarship awardees.

Some of the other conferences I've been to where I've learned a lot include CSTA, ISTE, TFA Anniversary Summit, and this year I'm going to the NMC conference.
I've also written several public facing tutorials.
